Bathroom Safety

In 2008 the CDC began publishing data related to bathroom safety.  At that time an estimated 234,000 people ages 15 and older were treated in emergency rooms for bathroom slip and fall accidents.  Approximately one third of people aged 65 and older who fell were treated for fractures.  Adults aged 85 and older were hospitalized at a rate of 38% due to their injuries.  The bathroom can be a dangerous place.  Hard, slippery surfaces become even more treacherous for elderly adults or those with limited mobility.  Safety rails or grab bars can be helpful in the transition in and out of the bathtub.  However, sometimes these just aren’t enough.  If mobility challenges you, a parent or loved one, put safety first and consider an walk in tub conversion.  This allows the existing fixture to stay in place while removing the barrier tub wall.  New Finish LLC. has been proudly serving the Saginaw Michigan Area since 2005.
